Joshua McGuire burst on the international fencing scene in 2000 when he won the world title in the cadet category (17 and under). He is Canada's sole entry in men's foil at the Olympic Games. McGuire trains under Buckie Leach at the Fencers Club in New York City who has produced several champions in the sport.
