Michel Boulos is Canada's lone entry in men's sabre, the heaviest weapon class in fencing. He earned a berth as the top ranked competitor from the Americas.
Boulos started fencing at age 12 and was introduced to the sport by former national team member Jean-Marie Banos who still coaches him today. He was on the national junior team from 1993 to 1996 and his first major senior level highlight was winning the bronze in the team sabre event at the 1999 Pan Am Games. He studies finances at the Université de Montréal.
