Leslie Reid has enjoyed success as both a rider and a coach in dressage, one of three equestrian sports at the Olympic Games. This year she didn't even need to ride at the Olympic trials. She won the gold medal at the Pan Am Games last year aboard Mark, a 10-year-old brown Holsteiner gelding, and followed that up with high scores at competitions over the winter.

She was a member of Canada's gold medal winning team at the 1991 Pan Am Games, her rookie season on the national team. She was the first Canadian rider named to the 1996 Olympic dressage team benefiting from three years of training in Germany. She was also on the 1999 Pan Am team.

She is a level 3 certified dressage coach and was named the Canadian Equestrian Federation's coach of the year in 1989. In 2000 she was awarded the Women of Excellence for the Langley Community.
