Ashley Holzer returns to the Olympic Games for the first time in 16 years. Holzer is a member of Canada's dressage team and hopes to at least duplicate the team's performance from the 1988 Seoul Games where it won a bronze medal. She also won team gold and individual silver at the 1991 Pan Am Games and represented Canada at the 2002 World Equestrian Games.

She is married to show jumper Rusty Holzer. They run Riverdale Equestrian Centre in New York City and they are also involved in a handicapped riding program at their stable. Holzer has also worked with Rob Henry Fashion Agency and developed a line of clothing for riders.
