Hawley Bennett helped Canada to team silver last year at the Pan American Championships in Idaho which put her on the short list for the Olympic team. She was officially named in July with four other riders as Canada qualified a full eventing team.

Bennett rides aboard Livingstone, a 14-year-old Canadian thoroughbred gelding which she purchased at age 17. At the prestigious Kentucky Three-Day Event in April, Bennett was the top Canadian in the Modified Division. "Livingstone performed one of his best dressage tests (in Kentucky)," said Bennett. "We improved our score from last year by 16 points. On cross-country I could not have asked for a better ride. He jumped around the four star course like it was nothing at all."

Earlier this year, her hometown of Aldergrove, B.C., held a successful fundraising benefit for her to help her pursue her Oympic dream. Currently, Bennett is living in Corona, California, working with eventer Ann Glaus whose husband, Troy, is third baseman for the Anaheim Angels.
