Eric Wohlberg is one Canada's best ever individual time trial racers and it seems a national cycling team can't be complete without his presence.. He won the national ITT title eight years in a row but was finally dethroned this year. He is scheduled to race only the road race at the Olympics because Canada did not qualify any positions for the time trials.

Wohlberg is also one of the gutsiest riders you'll find in the sport. Last year at the world championships he raced with a broken wrist and finished a respectable 25th in the time trial wearing a cast on his left hand. At the 1998 Commonwealth Games he won bronze in the road race riding a bike constructed with spare parts and borrowed shoes. He is also the 1999 Pan Am Games champion. These are his third Olympics.
