Gord Fraser heads to his third Olympics looking to improve on a 16th place finish in Sydney in 2000. Fraser's sprinting abilities and his experience make him one of the most dangerous riders in one day road race such as at the Olympic Games.
Fraser, this year's Canadian road race champion, started cycling at a young age as summer training for cross country ski racing. In 1981, cycling became his sole focus. He initially raced on track and was part of the Canadian pursuit team in 1989 and 1990. Fraser raced in the Tour de France in 1997. He placed seventh in the second stage but did not finish the event.
