Both Adam Trupish and his Olympic teammate Andrew Kooner are based at the Windsor Amateur Boxing Club and coached by Charles Stewart. Trupish emerged on the international scene at the 1999 Pan Am Games where he placed fifth in the light middleweight 69 kilos category. He was an alternate on the 2000 Olympic team.
It was Kooner who urged Trupish to take up boxing back in 1993 when both were in high school.
Trupish has won five national titles and has been twice named provincial athlete of the year. He is also a level 2 certified boxing coach and teaches the sport to youngsters.
