Infielder/outfielder Simon Pond is currently part of the Toronto Blue Jays system and played with the parent club this season in late May, early June. Most of this season has been with the Jays' AAA farm team in Syracuse. Pond was the Chiefs' player of the year in 2003. He is the 16th Canadian player to crack the Blue Jays line-up and the fifth from B.C.
Pond was selected in the eighth round by the Montreal Expos in 1994 who drafted him out of North Shore High School in North Vancouver.
