Peter Orr is expected to battle for a starting spot at shortstop on the Canadian team with Kevin Nicholson and Danny Klassen. Orr was a member of last year's Canadian team at the Olympic qualifier but only had two at bats. He has progressed to the Atlanta Braves AAA team in Richmond this year after two seasons at AA at Greenville. Last year he was Greenville's lone selection to the All Star game and was named the Southern League's Hustler of the Year. He was originally drafted by Texas in 1997 but signed with Atlanta in 1999. He played college baseball at Galveston (TX) Community College before signing with Atlanta.
