Left handed pitcher Eric Cyr is expected to be part of the starting rotation for Team Canada in the Olympic baseball tournament. Cyr was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 30th round of the MLB draft. He pitched in five games with the Padres in 2002 and is now the property of the Anaheim Angels. Cyr grew up playing hockey, learning to skate about the time he could walk. Baseball was a summers-only activity until age 17, after he was invited to attend the elite Academy of Baseball in Canada.
