It is every football fan's dream. Seven days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, a television network solely devoted to the most popular sport in North America, professional football. The NFL and CFL have a strong complementary relationship where one shared goal is to strengthen the interest, awareness and participation in football among Canadians. From September through December, 160 recreational teams from 13 universities across Canada will compete for a shot at the "Elite Four". Flag Football Canada is a co-ed, in-school program for elementary and middle school students which introduces football's fundamentals to kids. High school and youth coaches put a lot of energy into developing the game of football in Canada. To recognize these efforts, the NFL and CFL created the Youth Coach of the Year award. To honour the tens of thousands of Canadians who regularly attend NFL border clubs' games, the NFL officially designates a few Sunday games each fall as "Road Trips." |
