Electronic Arts has announced that Madden NFL 07, the EA SPORTS(TM) best-selling football franchise with the exclusive videogame license of the NFL and PLAYERS INC, has sold more than five million copies to consumers on a total of ten game platforms. EA believes, based on its own internal data as well as industry sources, that across all game platforms, Madden NFL 07 will finish as North America's most popular game of 2006.

Since its launch in August, Madden NFL 07 has had a record-breaking season, with first week retail sales of more than two million copies.

On January 20, 2007, the Metro Convention Centre in Toronto will host the Canadian Madden Challenge. The winner will win a trip to Hawaii and a chance at the $100,000 International Madden Challenge Grand Prize.

Trip to Hawaii and shot at $100,000 USD on the line; more than 5,000 GTA gamers have already registered for a chance to play in the Canadian final; North America’s best-selling video game franchise (54 million copies and $3.2 billion in revenue)

The national final in Toronto will feature 512 participants (consisting of 20 regional winners plus GTA participants – GTA participants who registered online at www.rogers.com/madden will be selected by random draw – some spaces will be held for walk-ups). NFL players will also be in attendance.

Regional winners (flown to Toronto) will be seeded above random entrants at the national finals in Toronto. Media participation can also be arranged.
