NFL Network will be the new television home of the NFL Europe League, broadcasting all 30 regular-season games in 2006, culminating with a live broadcast of the league's championship game -- the Yello Strom World Bowl XIV.
With 54 NFL preseason games, 31 NFL Europe League games and eight NFL regular-season games, NFL Network becomes the national home to 93 televised games annually.
NFL Network's exclusive coverage of NFL Europe begins Saturday, March 18, with a doubleheader featuring the Frankfurt Galaxy at the Rhein Fire live at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Berlin Thunder travelling to Amsterdam to take on the Admirals in a rematch of World Bowl XIII.
World Bowl XIV will be played Saturday, May 27, between the top two squads in the six-team league after the 10-week season, which runs from March 18-May 20.
In addition to airing the entire slate of games, NFL Network will also air an NFL Europe Game of the Week every Sunday night in primetime at 8 p.m. ET highlighting the best game from the weekend's action.
NFL Network will increase its coverage of the NFL Europe League this year by more than 50 percent. This marks the third consecutive season NFL Network will air NFL Europe games, following up on the 20 games televised on the network last season.
For 13 seasons, NFL Europe has been a proving ground for many of today's top NFL players, including Super Bowl starting quarterbacks Jake Delhomme, Brad Johnson and Kurt Warner, as well as Pro Bowl players La'Roi Glover, Dante Hall and Adam Vinatieri.
Last season Canadian Steve Morley used an opportunity in the league to earn NFL regular season playing time with the New York Jets.
