The New York Jets have acquired Halifax, Nova Scotia native Steve Morley. The Jets gave up an undisclosed draft choice to acquire Morley from Green Bay. Morley, an offensive lineman who is entering his third season as a pro and spent the summer playing in NFL Europe, was an all Canadian at St. Mary's in Halifax.
Five other Canadians were waived over the weekend, as NFL teams worked to reduce roster size before the season begins.
Ottawa's Jesse Palmer (QB) was released by the Giants.
Vancouver's Jerome Pathon (WR) and Toronto's Kerry Carter (RB) were released by the Seattle Seahawks.
Teyo Johnson (TE), who was born in White Rock, British Columbia, was released by the Oakland Raiders.
