Shaun Suisham, a kicker from Wallaceburg, Ontario, was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Suisham, who had signed a free agent contract with the club in April, was attempting to make crack the roster as a rookie.
As a senior in 2004 Suisham set the Bowling Green record by scoring 361 points as a Falcon.
2004: Second Team All-MAC ... was 12th in the nation in scoring at 9.3 points per game... set the school record by scoring 361 points as a Falcon... also holds school mark with 45 career field goals after making a 37-yarder against Memphis in the GMAC Bowl... had 31 touchbacks...a Lou Groza Award semifinalist ... became the all-time NCAA IA record for PATs made (226/233) ... converted on 14-of-20 field goal opportunities ... set a MAC record by making all 69 of his PAT attempts... the old record for successful point-after tries in a season was 53 ... kicked a season long 52-yard field goal against Ohio ... had a season-high 14 points against Southeast Missouri State ... also has recorded three tackles, inlcuding two solo tackles... converted an onsides kick in the GMAC Bowl and earned Special Teams MVP honors in that game.
