NFL and Members of the Detroit Lions Bring Youth Clinic to Windsor

Wed, May 25, 2005

NFL Canada has partnered with members of the Detroit Lions and Windsor-born NFLer BRETT ROMBERG to provide an unforgettable football clinic for Windsor-area youth.

Romberg (OL, Jacksonville Jaguars) will team up with Detroit Lions ROY WILLIAMS (WR), ANDREW BATTLE (LB), SHAWN BRYSON (RB), CASEY FITZSIMMONS (TE), KELLY BUTLER (OL), CORY REDDING (DE), CORY SCHLESINGER (FB) and LEONARD STEPHENS (TE).

The NFL Road to XL Super Clinic, presented by Reebok, will be held FRIDAY, MAY 27, 1:00 P.M. AT WINDSOR FIELD. The participating NFL players will man stations that emphasize football fundamentals like passing, catching, and running techniques.

"This clinic is an important part of our commitment to highlighting Super Bowl XL as a truly international event," said Daniel J. Quinn, Managing Director, NFL Canada. "We look forward to working with the citizens of Windsor to put our collective best foot forward during the exciting months to come."

The NFL Road to XL Super Clinic continues a series of NFL-themed events in Windsor leading to Super Bowl XL in January. Earlier this spring the league announced that a Windsor-based Reebok Flag Football team would participate in the national championship tournament and that a free Junior Player Development session would be held in the city.

As part of an ongoing effort to promote an active healthy lifestyle with today's youth and in partnership with the Windsor Board of Education, the clinic will be attended by more than 300 students from local public schools.
