The Oilers-Predators trade was completed just prior to the roster freeze in advance of Monday's waiver draft. Bob Sauve, Fichaud's agent, said the young goalie was happy at the move. "We knew Nashville was interested in him. They had tried to make a deal for him at the expansion draft." De Vries had seven goals, four assists and 80 penalty minutes in 65 games last season while Berehowsky had a goal, six assists and 169 penalty miniutes in 67 games. Dowd spent last season with Calgary and the Flames' AHL farm team in Saint John. He had six goals and eight assists in 48 games with Calgary. Shtalenkov had a 3.22 goals-against average last season in Anaheim when he had a 13-18-5 record. The Oilers, who lost starting goalie Curtis Joseph to free agency this off-season, also have goalie Bob Essensa under contract.
