Thursday, September 9, 1999 Roy out at least 10 days following hip surgeryDENVER (AP) -- Colorado Avalanche goaltender Patrick Roy could miss up to two weeks after having minor hip surgery."This is a relatively simple procedure," Avalanche trainer Pat Karns said Thursday. "Patrick shouldn't be out for more than a few weeks. He's been experiencing some pain in his right hip, and the surgery will alleviate the pain." Colorado opens its exhibition season in Dallas against the Stanley Cup champion Stars on Saturday. Roy is expected to return to the lineup for the three preseason games to be played at McNichols Sports Arena later this month. |
