    Reid signs with Avalanche

     DENVER (CP) -- Veteran left-winger Dave Reid, an unrestricted free agent after helping the Dallas Stars win the Stanley Cup, has signed with the Colorado Avalanche.
     The defensive forward will get $475,000 US this season.
     The Avalanche needed reinforcements after opening the season without injured forwards Peter Forsberg, Shjon Podein and Adam Deadmarsh.
