Thursday, October 21, 1999 Lindsay's back in Cats' house
His return to Florida served as a reminder of what it takes to win. Lindsay was a member of the Panthers when they made their improbable run to the 1995 Stanley Cup finals. He returns to Florida for the first time since his trade a few weeks ago to the Flames for former Calgary captain Todd Simpson. "It's going to be interesting playing back here," said Lindsay. "I spent a lot of years there, so it is going to be a tough game to play -- with a lot of mixed emotions. "We have a lot of good young guys but we've just got to get going on the right page together. I think a lot of it is team confidence, but when you have a young team like this you are going to go through some pains. "Hopefully, I can offer some advice here. In Florida, we went to the Stanley Cup with a team that wasn't supposed to go anywhere, so I know it can be done. "I think we have the talent here to get into the playoffs and once you get there, anything can happen. "The biggest thing I learned was that it can be done by teamwork. We didn't have anybody other than John Vanbiesbrouck, no big-name players, but just a bunch of hard-working players who believed in each other and the team. "In this sport, there is the most parity of all major sports and so if you can put it together as a team, you can have success and that's exactly what we need to do here."
