Ducks sign tough guy Jim Cummins
ANAHEIM, Calif. (CP) -- Star forward Paul Kariya will have a bit more room to manoeuvre next season after the Anaheim Mighty Ducks signed tough guy Jim Cummins on Wednesday.Cummins had 92 penalty minutes in 47 games with the Montreal Canadiens last season. The 6-2, 219-pound forward has also played with Chicago, Phoenix, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia and Detroit.
The 30-year-old, who became an unrestricted free agent after Montreal declined to offer him a qualifying offer last week, has 1,193 penalty minutes in 365 career NHL games.
