Columns: Kris Westwood
Kris Westwood is a former national team cyclist who raced in road, track, mountain bike, cyclocross and tandem competitions. Before becoming a journalist, Kris worked as a professional race mechanic and has managed the Canadian team at a variety of events, including the Tour de Langkawi in Malaysia, the Tour de Hokkaido in Japan and the Open des Nations in France. He also worked as national team co-ordinator at the Canadian Cycling Association for two years, before going to journalism school.
Kris now works at the Citizen daily newspaper in Ottawa, and runs his own bi-weekly regional sports paper. He still races occasionally for fun.
