Rampage add Lajeunesse
With both teams sitting sixth in their respective conferences, the San Antonio Rampage and Binghamton Senators saw their parent teams pull off a swap on Tuesday afternoon.
The Florida Panthers acquired goaltender Simon Lajeunesse from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for right wing Joey Tetarenko. Lajeunesse will report to San Antonio.
Lajeunesse, a 22-year-old native of Quebec City, has a 7-7-1 record with Binghamton this season. Originally selected by Ottawa in the second round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft (48th overall), Lajeunesse shared the Harry "Hap" Holmes Award with Martin Prusek and Mathieu Chouinard last season, helping Grand Rapids post one of the lowest team goals-against averages in AHL history. Lajeunesse was 13-7-5 with a 2.11 GAA and three shutouts in 2001-02.
Teteranko, who turned 25 on Monday, recorded four goals and 12 assists for 16 points, along with 123 penalty minutes, in 50 games with San Antonio this season. A native of Prince Albert, Sask., Tetarenko has played 69 career NHL games with Florida.
