Pigskin on the Pond in Cleveland

The American Hockey League's Cleveland Barons have partnered with the NFL's Cleveland Browns for Pigskin on the Pond, an event that will raise money for local charitable organizations.

At the Barons' game against the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks on Nov. 10, which coincides with the Browns' bye week, two dollars from every ticket sold will be donated to the Cleveland Browns Foundation and Cleveland Barons Charities.

Additionally, in conjunction with the Cleveland Browns Foundation's Dream Seats program, 150 children between the ages of nine and 16 who make a commitment to refrain from substance abuse and teach others about the dangers of substance abuse will rewarded with a ticket to the Nov. 10 game. Dream Seats is a reward-based program that gives children the opportunity to set and fulfill their goals.

To commemorate the event, past and present members of the Cleveland Browns will be participating in pre-game festivities, and the Cleveland Barons will be donning a special alternate football-style uniform, solid brown with white numbering and the Browns' signature triple white and orange stripes. The jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds going towards both charities.

The first 5,000 fans in attendance at the game will receive an exclusive Barons pin featuring the alternative uniform, courtesy of Cleveland Clinic Sports Health.

"The Cleveland Browns Foundation does so much to help out in the community," said Michael Lehr, president of the Cleveland Barons. "I'm ecstatic that the Barons and the Browns have formed a partnership that does so much to benefit Greater Cleveland."
