Hey Danny I just wanted to no why you change your stick
when you score or get an assist?
Daniel Briere : It's because I want to give them a rest if they perform well. I always have three sticks every game that I rotate. I've done this since I was 15. I don't why it came up. I started telling my stick that if they scored I'd be giving them a rest. I don't know anyone else who does this.
Patrick:
Daniel do you think the refs have cost your teams a lot of
games this year and do you think they do a good or bad job
Daniel Briere : Not really. Sometimes they have bad games, but everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes it is for us, and sometimes it is against us. I believe that in the end it all evens out.
A fan you sits in section 13:
Wuz up Danny, what do you do on game day? how does they day
go?
Daniel Briere : We have practice in the morning, and then we have lunch at a place in Nicky's Pizza in Agawam. I come back home and play with the kids and then rest for an hour. Then I drive up to the game. I try to do the same thing evry game day, but it isn't something I need to do. It's a pattern, but doing something else doesn't bother me.

Hey Danny way to go! It seems as though there have been so
many tough games this year, mentally, in the sense that the
team plays their hearts out for 60 full minutes of hockey,
yet still comes out at the bad end of the game despite the
tremendous effort. What kind of an effect has this had on
the players confidence and attitude toward the team?
Daniel Briere : We had a really tough stretch in November and December. We were working hard without the results. That will change. It effected us during the stretch, but we are out of it now. We are playing better now. A lot of our injured players are coming back now too, so that will give us a big boost.
FalconsFan:
Hey Danny! Congratulations! My question is how do you
feel about this year's group of guys, and do you think we
have what it takes to go far in the playoffs?
Daniel Briere : I think we do, but we need everyone healthy. It's tough to get into a rhythm. Every game it seems someone is going down with an injury. Like I said, guys are coming back soon, so you should see a change in the style of play on the ice.
Sandy:
Danny, how hard is it to be in Phoenix one day and
Springfield another with a family.
Daniel Briere : That's part of the job. I'm trying to work hard to impress someone to finally get a spot in the NHL. Until I do that, it's what I've got to do. It's tough, but I think my family understands that.
7-0 :
Congrats! After the chat what are your plans? Watching
Mario return to the ice or the Pack vs Bruins game?
Goodluck Danny!!
Daniel Briere : Definitley watching Mario. I can't wait to see the game. I've got the TV reserved. It's something special. It may take a little time, but he is going to be the dominating player he used to be.
Brie8:
Hi Danny! Awesome weekend! I was just wondering, what do
you do to get out of a scoring rut? And also, why is 8
your number?
Daniel Briere : I think the best advice is to concentrate on other parts of your game. I often try to play well defensively and win all my faceoffs. It makes me more relaxed when I am in front of a goalie trying to score.
It's funny, they gave me #8 when I showed up in Springfield, but when I was growing up in Gatineau, I used to wear #8. The trainer said he didn't know it was my number. He just gave it to me because it was the smallest jersey.

How does it feel to be going to the All star game again?
You are truly the best! congratulations on the falcons all
time point record you broke a couple of weeks ago! You da
man!
Daniel Briere : It is an honour. I wanted to go back this year. My last two years I didn't play much in Phoenix and I was travelling back and forth a lot, so this year I wanted to prove to everyone that I can still dominate in the AHL.
Screech:
Danny, with us being knocked out of the playoffs each of
the last two years by Hartford, do you think that this
motivates the guys even more to play hard against them as a
sense of revenge?
Daniel Briere : There is always a rivalry with them because we are so close. Every time we play them, it is fun and excited. The fans really seem to enjoy it. Revenge is a factor against them. They don't want to lose what they've won against us. We want to prove we're the better team.

Hello Danny I wanted to know what it feels like to be
called up for a short visit qith the parents and to be then
sent down. What goes through your head is it a feeling of
your not good enough or I have to get better.
Daniel Briere : The first few days are freally tough, because you ask those questions. But now I just want to improve my game and get good enough that I can stay the next time.
LimpBizkit:
Which player did you look up to when you were growing up?
Go Falcons!!
Congrats on everything!!!
Daniel Briere : Gretzky was one. And since I was a huge Montreal fan, Naslund was a favourite then too. I don't know if I can say they effected my style. I wanted to be the same style of player though.
Dave:
Congratulations Danny!!! It seems as though every game,
regardless of how the other players are playing, and what
the score is of the game, you are out there giving 110% for
the whole game. I want you to know that the fans really
appreciate this consistent effort from you. My question is
how do you keep up such a strong, motivated playing style
even at the worst of times?
Daniel Briere : I think it is from having the dream to go back to the NHL. Just from wanting to go back up and playing with the best players in the world and proving that you belong with them.
A fan you sits in section 13:
Great Job Danny, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT AUTOGRAGHS, DO YOU
MINED GIVING THEM OUT, AND DO YOU HAVE THINK THAT SOME
PEOPLE ARE GOING TO SELL THEM.
Daniel Briere : I have no problem giving them out. Like any other player, I don't appreciate when they're just trying to make money off of it. But I'll never reject signing one because I remember chasing for autographs when I was a kid. It was great when players stopped for me.
A fan you sits in section 13:
HEY DANNY, WHEN YOU GO ON LONG TRIPS SUCH AS THE ONES INTO
CANADA WHO DO YOU ROOM WITH MOST OFTEN.
Daniel Briere : Lately, I've roomed Jean-Guy Trudell. We're linemates and on the ice together. Usually friends are watched up, but it's nice that we are linemates too.
WhalerFan:
Danny you've had a chance to play for several years with
this club, both under Coach Farrish and first year coach
Marc Potvin. Do you feel that the new coaching staff is a
big improvement? Also, do you blame coach Potvin for the
early struggling of this team this year, or do you feel
that he is doing his job sufficiently, and the players
might not be.
Daniel Briere : I don't blame Potvin. He's done a great jobv with the team so far. Like it said earlier, injuries have really hit us. Him and Norm Maciver ahve done an excellent job with everyone on the team. Guys are giving their hundred per cent. Right now we don't have the talent to match some of the best teams in the league.
Daniel Briere: I just want to thank everyone for supporting me. Keep believing that one day I'm going to make it and get my chance. Everyone's support is really appreciated.
Moderator: Thanks Daniel. This chat was a lot of fun. Good luck the rest of the way this season.
