Welcome to the Dwayne Roloson Chat

Worcester's Dwayne Roloson enters the AHL chatroom on Thu., Dec. 7 @ 7 p.m. ET. The IceCats goalie was a perfect 3-0-0 last week, earning him the Sher-Wood AHL Player of the Week award. He made 112 saves on 117 shots and didn't allow a power-play goal in 16 man-down situations.
Moderator: Dwayne Roloson has joined us in the chat room. Let's get started!!!

=Fan behind the glass=: Just wanted to say I love watching you in goal at the Centrum Centre. Does Don Granato have any major impact on your success for this season so far? You Take care see ya next home game!!

Dwayne Roloson : I think the whole coaching staff have been a great confidence builder on the entire team as well as myself by the way that we are playing, and the success that we are having as a club.

:

Marc Lachance: hI Dwayne, What advice would you tell a young goaltenders?

Dwayne Roloson : To have fun and enjoy the game, and try not to worry about the goals they let in. Try not to worry about the negatives, try to focus on the positives and try to have fun and enjoy.

:

Russ Thibeault: Dwayne: When speaking of the difference between play in the NHL and AHL, forwards and defensemen unanimously say that speed is the major difference. The pace in the NHL is so much faster. Having played in both leagues, from a goaltender's perspective, what is the major difference between the AHL and NHL?

Dwayne Roloson : I would have to agree that the speed is a lot faster. There are four strong lines in the NHL, whereas the depth in the AHL isn't as strong.

:

Icemanskis@aol.com: Congrats! What is your most memorable moment in your hockey career?

Dwayne Roloson : I would have to say stopping a long time friend Rob Blake on a penalty shot. Also, reaching the Stanley Cup finals with Buffalo.

:

Beth and Amatruda: Hello!! Congrats!! How do you think Worchester will do this year? Your off to a great start!! keep it up!

Dwayne Roloson : I think with the coaching staff and the team that we have, I think we will enjoy great success as long that we as a team stay healthy.

:

Anonymous: Dwayne: How do you like the fans in Worcester?

Dwayne Roloson : The fans in Worcester support the team really well. They support the team well by traveling to visiting games, especially to Hartford and Providence where they know they will be outnumbered, but they still wear their blue and white jerseys with pride. It's great for us to see them there.

:

Brad from Simcoe: Hey Dwayne. How down are you about being sent to the minors?I for one don't think you deserve it.

Dwayne Roloson : Well, initially being sent down was frustrating. But I am trying to use this as my ladder to get back to the NHL by playing lots and getting back into "game mental sharpness."

:

Patrick: Dwayne what do you do when the team has a off date?Do you watch tapes of your games so other teams can be prepared when they play you?

Dwayne Roloson : On the off days we usually practice for an hour, or an hour-and-a-half to keep our conditioning up. We try to work on things that will make our team better like specific drills, watching video, and strength training.

:

Cutie99771: I am a huge fan of yours Dwayne and i was so happy to know that you got AHL player of the week. How would you feel if you got a spot on the AHL all star team?

Dwayne Roloson : I would be excited to play in the all-star game. For anybody that gets voted or selected it is a great honour, no matter what the age or experience.

:

Sabres fan in Hartford: Hi Dwayne, which is worse? Playing in the AHL as a starting goaltender, or being a healthy scratch everyday in the NHL?

Dwayne Roloson : I guess being a healthy scratch is worse. As an athlete, you always want to play.

:

StatMan - Lowell, Ma. : I've seen you play since 1992, and I have noticed that you wander out of the net more than any other goaltender I've ever seen. Do the coaches get on you for that, or is it encouraged? PS. Thanks for staying late and signing my stuff last night.

Dwayne Roloson : Sometimes it's encouraged, and sometimes it's not. Every once and a while I get a little out of control, and that's when the coach will say something. Generally speaking, nobody ever says that much.

:

David Dolloff: Dwayne, who do you think are some of the better goaltenders in the AHL, goalies with a good shot of making it to the NHL on a perminant basis?

Dwayne Roloson : Personally, I haven't played against or seen a lot of guys outside of our division, so I can't really answer this question properly. But one person that I have watch play and that I think has the ability to play is Mika Noronen with the Rochester Americans.

Moderator: We thank Dwayne for taking the time with us today. Good luck for the remainder of the season!

Dwayne Roloson : I like to thank the fans for all the questions and support. Hopefully the team enjoys continued success.
