  National champion Steve Omischl is one of Canada's fastest rising stars in men's aerials. He's finished fourth in the World Cup standings the past two seasons and was named the World Cup's male rookie of the year for 1999-2000. In his World Cup debut at Blackcomb, B.C., in 1992 he won the silver medal.

  He hasn't slowed down this season in preparation for the Olympic Games with three top-five finishes so far in World Cup competition.
