Daniel Migneault returned to the World Cup scene for the first time in over a year this season and made a late charge to meet the criteria and qualify for the Olympic Games. Injuries are a reality in snowboarding, particularly the harrowing halfpipe event, but Migneault's list is quite impressive. In the past year alone he has undergone knee surgery, twisted his back, dislocated ribs and to top it all off he had mononucleosis last winter.

In his return this winter, he placed 12th at the World Cup in Tignes but the big highlight was his victory in December at the World Cup in Whistler as he led Canada to a 1-2-3 finish.
