 NHL Club: New York Rangers
 Date of Birth: 2/28/73
 Birthplace: London, ON
 Height: 6'4"

THE SKINNY:
After suffering his seventh concussion in late December, hasn't been the same physical player he was earlier in the year... Canada's most experienced international player. This is his third Olympic appearance... The first pick overall in the 1991 draft by the Quebec Nordiques, but refused to report and was traded to two teams, New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers the following year. Arbitrator ruled the Flyers deal should stand... Won a silver medal at the 1992 Olympics making him one of only two members of Team Canada to have won a medal at the Olympics (the other is Paul Kariya, silver in '94)... Won the Lester Pearson Award and Hart Trophy in 1995... Leads Team Canada in Olympic scoring (five goals and six assists with 1992 Team Canada in eight Olympic games; two goals and three assists in six games with Team Canada at the 1998 Olympic Games for a total of seven goals and nine assists in 14 Olympic contests)... Missed all of 2000-2001 because of a contract dispute... If he can't play with the physical edge he showed in Nagano, his effectiveness will be greatly reduced.

FAMOUS FOR:
Making Dr. James Kelly the most quoted doctor on the planet.

INFAMOUS FOR:

SHOOTOUT POTENTIAL:
Is 2-0 in his career on penalty shots; didn't score in the shootout in Nagano.
