Ken LeBlanc returned after a five-year absence during the 1997-98 Olympic season. It was the second chapter in his career with the men's
bobsleigh program. The first part was with Chris Lori's four-man crew and included trips to the 1988 and 1992 Winter Olympics and the overall
four-man World Cup title in the 1989-90 season.
After some legal problems, LeBlanc became a Christian and rejoined the bobsleigh team in time for Nagano. Last season he was a brakeman
for
Pierre Lueders in the two-man event. They could enter the Salt Lake Games as the defending Olympic champions. The pair posted four
top-seven finishes on the World Cup circuit in 2000-2001 including one bronze medal and were fifth at the world championships.
LeBlanc was a top-ranked track and field athlete and competed in the 200 and 400 metre races at the 1987 world junior championships.
