Marie-France Dubreuil, who once held down three jobs to support her figure skating, has been ice dancing with her partner
Patrice Lauzon since
1995.
She won a national junior crown and was third at the world juniors with her former partner Bruno Yvars in 1990. Ten years later, Dubreuil
had a breakthrough season with Lauzon claiming a first senior national crown then placing 10th at their first world championships. It was the best
worlds debut for a Canadian couple in ice dancing since 1982 when Tracy Wilson and Rob McCall also placed 10th.
The performance clearly
established them as the number-two Canadian couple behind
Shae-Lynn Bourne and
Victor Kraatz.
Dubreuil says her biggest influences are Tracy Wilson and
Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov.
