South Australia's Hindmarsh Stadium is having its crowd capacity increased from 12,000 to 15,000 permanent seats, with an additional 5,000 temporary seats for the Games.
The upgrade will create an all-seater stadium by replacing all the existing terraces with uncovered stands.
The stadium is the home of soccer in South Australia, hosting the National Soccer League team Adelaide Force and is managed and operated by the South Australian Soccer Federation.
Hindmarsh Stadium will host six preliminary matches and one men's quarterfinal, beginning September 13, two days before the Opening Ceremony.
