The smile on Jason Lachance's face last night said more than words ever could.
Lachance was one of nine Ottawa-area Paralympians who returned home and the 19-year-old had three great reasons to smile.

Jessica Sloan went Down Under and ended up on top of the world.
The 17-year-old Calgary swimmer won six gold medals in the Paralympic Games, which wrapped up on Sunday.

SYDNEY (CP-AP) -- Canada capped the Paralympic Games on Sunday with gold medals in goalball and the wheelchair marathon.
Canada finished fifth in the medal standings with 96 -- 38 gold, 33 silver and 25 bronze.

SYDNEY (AP) -- A powerlifter from Azerbaijan was stripped of his gold medal in the Sydney Paralympics on Monday after testing positive for the steroid nandrolone.
The International Paralympic Committee's Medical and Anti-Doping Commission said Gundus Ismailov would be expelled from the Paralympics until after the 2004 Games.

SYDNEY (AP) -- American Paralympics sprinter Brian Frasure has tested positive to the banned substance nandrolone.
The International Paralympic Committee said in a statement Sunday that Frasure, a member of Disabled Sports USA and the world's top 100-metre sprinter for amputees the past three years, had his A and B samples test positive to the steroid during competition testing.
