Pierre Browne is a 20-year-old Toronto runner who won the 200 metres at the
national championships and is going to Sydney with a qualified time of
20.49. He is another surprise story on the Canadian track squad.
"To be honest, I didn't think this would be my breakthrough year," he told the
Edmonton Sun's Terry Jones. "To tell you the truth, I didn't think this
would happen to me this year. But now I'm here."
